This is good news. I hope the suit gets the law struck down. The the only reason bills like these keep coming up is because requiring doctors to follow the outdated FDA protocol makes medication abortion more expensive, more logistically challenging, and shortens the time frame in which it can be used.

When are states going to pass restrictions on medical erectile dysfunction drugs or cholesterol drugs, or antibiotics, etc? They all have potentially more serious side effects than medical abortion drugs

    • fiona64

Heh. I asked a male anti-choicer that, and he told me that ED drugs are *medically necessary,* because a man might get depressed and commit suicide if he couldn’t get it up.

      • HeilMary1

But women committing suicide over unwanted pregnancies or post partum depression is never a problem in the antis’ world!

      • L-dan

And the women so desperate to not be pregnant that they’ll commit suicide or try risky methods isn’t analogous to this how? I never got that nonsense.

        • cjvg

But it is a woman’s destiny to be a mother!
Pre-natal and post-natal depression or psychosis is just nonsense that is made up by abortion providers that want to make millions of dollars

          *sarcasm*

        Then he need psychological help.

IIRC, Viagra was originally used “off label” from the FDA protocol of what was some type of heart medicine. About 20% of prescription meds ARE. But of course only abortion medication MUST follow the FDA protocol. Never mind research.

      • fiona64

Your recollection is 100 percent correct.

    • Mirable

Because being able to ‘get it up’ for the purpose of ‘making babies’ is a GOOD thing, whereas denying pwecious life the chance to grow inside your body is a BAD thing.

The first part of you sentence is acceptable the second half is wrong.
Child birth is not a “sacred” thing it’s a natural process that need to be regulated for the well being of humanity and the planet. According to science, medicine, common sense and the majority of Americans, the regulation of fertility and child birth is a necessity. The UN equates access to reproductive control services like contraception and abortion as one of the necessities of life along with food, air, & water and the lack of convenient access only leads to social and health problems, strife, and death.

Men ought to have to produce notarized marriage licenses before getting access to Viagra or Cialis. As well as be monitored that getting it up is only for their wives, not mistresses, prostitutes nor girlfriends. Where are the Catholic and Fundamentalist Protestants morality police squads willing to do that. If they got their sexuality lives monitored, contraception rights would flourish at the speed of light.
