Lynn Paltrow, founder and executive director of the National Advocates for Pregnant Women, joins Amy Goodman and Nermeen Shaikh to discuss the case of Purvi Patel, who received a 41-year sentence on Monday on charges of feticide and felony neglect of a dependent. Though Patel, who is the first person in the United States sentenced to prison for feticide, says she had a miscarriage, prosecutors used a float test, a discredited method, to claim the fetus was born alive.
