Will they be celecrating being the most anti-choice state in the nation?
Please watch this video and then wait 72 hours before aborting your presidential campaign.
What are you, as a woman, or as a man related to one, willing to trade when you vote for a presidential candidate who signed the Personhood Pledge or a legislator who supports anti-choice “personhood”-based bills?
While campaigning in Oklahoma, Rick Santorum signed the Personhood petition that is being circulated in that state. Santorum’s signature is no surprise, as all of the GOP nominees have jumped on that bandwagon. But, Rick continues to try to have it both ways.
Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum took his single-track, anti-abortion thinking to a very dangerous level this weekend when he suggested the government should not pay for prenatal tests because they encourage abortion.
Foster Friess, Rick Santorum’s chief political benefactor and main donor to the Super PAC backing Rick Santorum’s presidential bid told Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC that women should just “keep their legs shut.”
Republicans denouncing the requirement that female employees have access to birth control as part of their health benefits use “religious freedom” as their focal point, but completely ignore the church teachings they don’t agree with. Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich both wear their faith on their sleeves, but are hypocritical in picking and choosing when they wish to listen to the bishops.
The men who lobby against women’s rights, partnered with candidates like Santorum who literally believe that “America is a moral enterprise” (in effect, America is a fundamentalist Christian moral enterprise) will do anything within their power to ensure that their personal religious beliefs make their way into the legislation that affects everyone, regardless of their beliefs.
Asked whether he would refuse to allow his own daughters to obtain abortions if raped, Santorum explains that despite the facts of the conception, the baby is still a “gift.”
Those Duggars sure are spending a lot of time on the campaign trail.
