Here in the United States, where the rights of freedom and equality define our history of struggle, American women and girls do not possess a freedom to live out our full potential — unencumbered by violence.
To have a bona fide sexual revolution we first need to all have real liberty — full and autonomous reproductive choice for all women, real bodily autonomy and integrity, equal rights for all of us no matter our sexual orientation, the end to all forced sex.
It’s human nature to want everyone to agree with one’s religion or personal moral code. But I also accept that there will always be vast differences among religious and secular perspectives on life. And I believe that government should not help me or anyone else spread our religious beliefs.
