Levi Johnston, infamous for his association with former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol, and his now-girlfriend Sunny are expecting a child together and have informed the press that the pregnancy was unplanned. Instead of mocking Levi’s many adventures in contraceptive use (or lack thereof), let’s have a serious discussion about how to expand access and adherence to the various methods that are available to those who do not wish to become pregnant.
Many normal, non-news-junky Americans might have missed that this is Levi Johnston, the young man lucky enough to impregnate the governor’s daughter– just before the governor became the vice-presidential nominee for the Republican part.
As amusing as the Sarah Palin family circus may seem to gleeful liberals, there is something sad about it too. How many lives have been ruined by the kind of high-minded, impractical approach to sex that Sarah Palin’s party pushed?
There’s something appealing about Tyra Banks’s non-nonsense approach to Levi Johnston: she’d make a pretty good big sister, if a bad sex ed teacher.
