The Associated Press reports that a federal judge ordered Kansas “to immediately resume funding a Planned Parenthood chapter on the same quarterly schedule that existed before a new state law stripped it of all federal funding for non-abortion services.”
The State of Kansas has a health care crisis that it should be addressing, but instead the Brownback administration is a little tied up restricting women’s access to low cost birth control and abortion care.
Governor Brownback’s religious convictions are more than just a statement of personal theology. They represent policies he promotes under his administration. And these policies are policies of forced motherhood, elimination of abortion access and endangering the lives of women.
Kansas facing rising rates of poverty, extreme poverty, child poverty and other problems, even outpacing the nation as a whole in terms of poverty. But for Brownback and the extremists in the Kansas legislature, its all-about-abortion all the time.
