Tina Vasquez was senior reporter, immigration for Rewire.News, where she covered the U.S. immigration system and the people it targets.

Previously, Tina was a freelance writer and editor with almost ten years of experience, focusing on intersectional feminism, racial justice, and immigration. She is a recipient of a Media Consortium 2015 Impact Award and a 2018 Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) Media Excellence Award. With Rewire.News, she has developed partnerships with the New York Review of Books and NPR’s Latino USA. Tina is a 2014 VONA/Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation alumna and the winner of the Media Consortium’s 2015 Impact Award for her story “It’s Time to End the Long History of Feminism Failing Transgender Women.” She has presented at several conferences, including Netroots Nation and the National Judicial Bypass Convening.
