Stephanie S. Arnold Pang is the Manager, Policy and Communications at the National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD), where she manages all policy and advocacy matters with a specific focus on policymaker education efforts at the federal level with the legislative and executive branches of government. Prior to joining NCSD, she was a senior Legislative Aide for U.S. Senator Patty Murray (WA), working on issues of sexual and reproductive health and health care reform and also worked at the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA). Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Beloit College.
Sexually transmitted infections cost the U.S. health care system $17 billion every year — and that number doesn’t even take into account the amount STDs cost to individuals in short-term and long-term consequences. We need more funding to prevent and treat these infections.
