Lenzi Sheible is a young, queer, poor mother of color who has experienced and sometimes experiences disabilities. She is the president of Fund Texas Choice, a nonprofit organization that pays travel expenses for low-income Texans seeking abortions, which she founded at the age of 19. She has a Bachelor's degree in African and African Diaspora Studies and Women's and Gender Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently enrolled at the University of Texas School of Law. She aspires to become a criminal defense attorney in the state of Texas.
If we in the pro-choice movement don’t start paying serious attention to the ways in which our own practices contribute to the dehumanization of people with disabilities, we can’t keep claiming to operate under a reproductive justice framework at all.
