Instead, I wait with baited breath for oral arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court this week, fearful that the Court’s majority – five conservative male justices – could dismantle the rights we fought so hard to secure.
It is time for the law to ensure that abortion providers don’t have to put their lives on the line to defend women’s rights to health, equality and reproductive autonomy.
Abortion providers have been threatened, attacked, and even murdered by anti-choice extremists. If the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights recognizes them as women’s rights defenders, would providers be better protected?
