Jessica Feingold is a public health professional who has worked on women's health and violence prevention both domestically and internationally. By day, she is the Partnerships Manager at Ashoka Changemakers, and by passion, the Communications & Strategy Specialist at Move This World (Dance 4 Peace). Jessica is also the co-founder of Life-improving Ventures, a nonprofit organization tackling the issue of menstrual hygiene management in India. She received her Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The death from gang rape of a 23-year-old student has turned a spotlight on India’s gender norms. In response, Human Rights Watch has come out with a series of policy recommendations for India. But without effective enforcement, these laws won’t even move the needle on acts of violence against women.
