Irina Teplinskaya
Irina Teplinskaya is a community relations coordinator at the Andrey Rylkov’s Foundation for Health and Social Justice (Russia). In addition, Irina is a member of a working group on opioid substitution therapy advocacy. In 2010 Irina submitted a complaint to the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to health, challenging Russia’s ban on opioid substitution therapy.

I dreamed of coming to Washington to speak at AIDS 2012 to deliver a message to those with the financial and political means to turn the tide of the epidemic: For millions of us, repressive drug policies and stigma stand in the way of treatment and prevention. But I am barred from participating.
