Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health

Dr. Willie Parker is an obstetrician/gynecologist currently completing a family planning fellowship at the University of Michigan School of Medicine. Dr. Parker's research focuses on men's reproductive healthcare and the acceptability of male contraceptives. Prior to joining the family planning fellowship, Dr. Parker worked as an epidemiologist for the Centers for Disease Control and as an obstetrician/gynecologist in Ohio, California, and Hawaii. Dr. Parker is a 2007-2008 Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health Leadership Training Initiative fellow. He joined the PRCH board in November 2007.

Politics Has No Place in Medicine

A year ago today, on April 18, 2007, the Supreme Court upheld a federal ban on a specific abortion procedure. The law deliberately omitted an exception allowing doctors to act if a woman's health is in danger. Now, copycat legislation is being introduced in states across the country.
