Deborah Laporta is a psychologist from the Cayetano Heredia University of Peru, and has more than ten years of experience in the design, management and evaluation of sexual health, reproductive health and HIV prevention programs aimed at teenagers and young people. She is also a member of the Steering Council of Peru’s Education and Health Institute (IES), a not-for-profit organization which for the last 17 years has worked with and for young people, developing their abilities and those of people around them who influence their lives, as well as the capacity of public and private organizations. IES promotes the exercise of sexual and reproductive rights and contributes to human development. Since its inception, IES has developed actions for HIV prevention and the promotion of sex education in public schools, facilitating peer-to-peer youth counseling and information.
