Claudia Trevor-Wright is a health educator and an attorney who and currently serves as a health educator at a Boston area college. Claudia received a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in health education from New York University, before going on to get a law degree from Boston University School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Claudia served as the State and Community Advocacy Associate at SIECUS. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband, son and cats, and is soon to be joined by another son.

How Censorship of the Word “Vagina” by the Michigan House of Representatives Is Related to Child Sexual Abuse

By censoring Rep. Lisa Brown's use of the word "vagina," lawmakers in Michigan are sending a powerful message to young people that certain things (and body parts) are so shameful adults can't even hear about them.  It is just this attitude that creates environments where years of abuse - like what is being alleged in the trial of Jerry Sandusky - can go on in silence.
