Coalition for Adolescent Girls

Ariana Childs Graham is coordinator of the Coalition for Adolescent Girls (www.coalitionforadolescentgirls.org ) . The Coalition gathers more than 30 leading international organizations dedicated to bringing adolescent girls to the global development agenda. Launched by the United Nations Foundation and the Nike Foundation in 2005, the Coalition offers fresh perspectives, diverse resources and concrete solutions to the challenges facing adolescent girls in developing countries. Prior to joining the Coalition, she served as senior international policy associate with the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S. where she advocated for sexual and reproductive health and rights—particularly quality, comprehensive sexuality education and evidence-based HIV prevention strategies—at the international level and within U.S. foreign policy. Ms. Childs Graham has also conducted research and written about the impact of U.S. response to the global HIV/AIDS crisis and developed advocacy materials and trainings on regional HIV-prevention initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean for health care providers, educators, policymakers, and advocates. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in International Studies from Macalester College and a master of arts degree in International Law and Human Rights from the United Nations-mandated University for Peace.
