Angela is the Interim Executive Director of the National Institute for Reproductive Health. Formerly, she was the VP of National Programs for the National Institute, where she was responsible for overseeing the national education, policy and training programs aimed at increasing access to reproductive health care services and information for all women. Angela formerly serves as the Director of Policy and Advocacy at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, where she managed the policy program and promoted NLIRH’s reproductive justice agenda through research, analysis, and public education. Angela received her B.S. from Northwestern University and her law degree from Yale Law School. Upon graduation, Angela received the Blackmun Fellowship at the Center for Reproductive Rights in New York. Angela was also a Georgetown Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellow. Angela currently serves on the boards of Ibis Reproductive Health and the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health.
Advocates’ success in winning contraceptive access has often been hard fought on a state-by-state basis, with many challenges along the way. But in adotping the Institute of Medicine’s recommendations, the Obama Adminsitration can transcend this piecemeal approach by enacting comprehensive, nationwide reform.
