    A lying anti-choicer? Well, I’ll be!

  • HeilMary1

Hope Calhoun the loon loses his license.

What? An anti-choicer lied? I’m *shocked.* Shocked, I tell you …

I hope WVU does something, but politics is rather entwined with that university. There was a major fuss there over granting an MBA to someone who was unqualified and who did not do the coursework but was the adult child of a political figure. But, hey, nothing like teaching students and residents that lying to your state’s attorney general is just fine and dandy.

Birthists, especially religionist ones, are incredibly dishonest. They believe their god inspires them to lie for a good cause. I’m not kidding either.

Surprised that an anti-choice affliliated doctor lied? Not at all. After all, evidence and statistics about the safety of legal abortion, particularly during the first trimester when most abortions are performed, indicate that it is a very safe procedure, and that doesn’t fit the needs of the anti-choice community.

I could be wrong about this; if I am, someone please correct me. Having said that, isn’t “minor bleeding” after an abortion totally normal and therefor not a “complication”? I’m nearly positive that I remember after my abortion (almost 20 years ago) that they gave me a pad immediately after and said to use pads, not tampons, for the period-like bleeding I would have for the next few days.

Not that I gave any credence to this jerk before but, if I am correct, then he’s even worse than I thought. It seems like referring to “minor bleeding” as a complication from abortion is like referring to “minor pain” from a root canal as a complication. Both are totally normal and expected. Anyway, I just wanted to point that out ’cause it really stuck in my craw.

Bleeding after an abortion is expected and not a complication unless one is soaking pads within an hour or two and the bleeding doesn’t abate. Bleeding after giving birth is also normal and lasts for an average of 6 weeks.

Permanently revoke the license of Calhoun and make it illegal for him to practice medicine in the United States.
