    Do you know what the fallacy is called when you ask a question the premise of which is untrue?

    As in “Why have you stopped beating your kitten?”  It’s not quite http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_fallacy#Begging_the_question begging the question? I think http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loaded_question Loaded question is a better fit.

     

    You have done a great service, since up to now, I always thought the the favorite Republican argument form was Ad Hominem. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem

    I see this in very simple terms. If every American must pay a tax to support a standing army which defends against invaders, then every American must also pay a tax to defend against the ubiquitous small invaders (sickness and disease)

    I see health care as a much larger issue than the widespread vastly overblown “terror threat,” for which we spend billions to prevent. Those billions should be going instead, into public national health care, as is done in the rest of the world.

    In all probability, what is more likely going to get to you first, AlQaeda or Cancer?
