New Hampshire Senate Kills 24-Hour Wait Law Again

Once more the House approved a waiting period, and once more the Senate rejected it.

A law that would make a woman wait 24 hours before having an abortion already died once in the New Hampshire Senate. But abortion opponents, eager to pass the law, added it onto a bill expanding tax credits for new businesses.

Now, that bill has died, too.

Via The Boston Globe:

The New Hampshire Senate has once again killed a bill that would have required pregnant women to wait 24 hours for an abortion.

The Senate already had voted last month to kill a House-passed bill requiring such waits, only to have the House add it to an unrelated Senate bill on the same day.

The Senate took up that bill Wednesday, killing it without debate.

Perhaps now Speaker O’Brien is finally ready to let it go.
