New Hampshire Speaker of the House Persists in Pushing Forced Waiting Period

How many times will the senate have to say no before the Speaker of the House will listen?

Just because the New Hampshire Senate dismissed a mandatory 24-hour forced waiting period for abortion doesn’t mean anti-choice politicians are ready to let it go. To get another chance at the bill, the Speaker of the House is now adding it onto unrelated bills to try and get it passed.

Via the Boston Globe:

The Senate voted 12-11 last month to kill a House-passed bill requiring women to wait 24 hours, but that same day the House added it to the Senate bill. The House Finance Committee later voted to delete the abortion provision, but Republican House Speaker William O’Brien has sponsored another amendment to add it back when the House meets Tuesday.

The senate rejected or dismissed nearly every piece of anti-choice legislation proposed in the House this year, but it looks as if Speaker O’Brien still won’t let it go.
