    Holly,

Not a good situation.  Any kind of abuse where one is in a position of power and takes advantage in any way is unacceptable.

There is no excuse this sort of behavior.  But there are explanations.

We have a very sexuilized culture and sex is used to sell everything. In fact females are essentially expected to *market* themselves as sex objects.  I know this sounds hideous and it is… but that is what the media is doing and poisoning the minds of people.

And then there’s the notion that we seek, expect and take gratification for our needs, urges in a selfish way… Another theme that the culture reinforces… take care of no. 1.

Where do you see anything about sex as a shared activity of mutual interest?  At best sex is portrayed as secessful seduction… that is someone is being induced to engage in sex.

Control is a common theme.  We are taught to be in control lest we are controlled… Males seem to feel they need to remind themselves that they are in control.

I don’t know what can be done. I don’t blame it on women who want to look and feel sexy.  I blame it on men who don’t know how to NEGOTIATE a relationship of mutual interest.  And this also applies to some women.

Feminists need to target Madison Avneue for they are the MOST responsible for shaping young .. well.. all minds.
