Go Figure — Perry Signs Anti-Choice Pledge

The Texas governor signs on the dotted line for the Susan B. Anthony List.

The Hill announces that new presidential candidate Rick Perry has now signed the Susan B. Anthony List’s anti-choice pledge, making him the sixth major candidate to do so.  The Texas governor’s anti-choice credentials were never in doubt, although he did upset a few advocates by stating that abortion should be a states rights issue, before reversing himself and saying he would support a federal ban.

All major GOP candidates have signed the pledge except for former Governor Mitt Romney and businessman Herman Cain, both of whom said they had issues with the idea that they could only appoint federal appointees and judges who are against a woman’s right to choose.
