Anti-Abortion OB-GYNs File Suit Against Kansas Injunction Because They Are “Losing Business”

In order to put forth a lawsuit, you need to prove you have "standing" and a reasonable interest in the case.  Apparently, no matter how tenuous.

If you want to sue someone, you need to establish legal standing.  And this might be one of the most tenuous cases of “interest” yet.

A “pro-life” OB-GYN group is suing the federal injunction barring Kansas from shutting down all of the abortion clinics under their new TRAP laws, stating that the clinics should be shut.

Why?  Because they take business from them.

A Michigan-based anti-abortion physicians group wants to appeal a federal injunction prohibiting the enforcement of restrictive new abortion regulations in Kansas.

The American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists on Monday filed a motion to intervene in the case and a notice of appeal of the ruling. The group contends it has legal standing in the case because its Kansas obstetricians are losing childbirth-related business to abortion clinics.

The group states that they have to sue since the state has not.
