Ohio Governor Signs 20-Week Abortion Ban

Ohio has become the latest state to ban almost all abortions after 20 weeks, even prior to viability and without any exception for the health of the mother.  Republican Governor John Kasich signed the bill into law today, making it the second major new abortion restriction to go on the books this session.

Kellie Copeland, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio, released the following statement condemning the new law:

“Once again, Governor Kasich put politics over the safety of Ohio women by signing an anti-abortion bill that lacks adequate health protections.  When a pregnancy endangers a woman’s health, or there are serious complications, politicians shouldn’t interfere.  This intrusive new law will force women who face serious health problems later in their pregnancies to wait until their lives are in jeopardy before a doctor can legally terminate their pregnancy and has no exception to provide care for women carrying a fetus with a severe anomaly.  Ohio is on the fast track to becoming the most dangerous state in the country for pregnant women.”

Of course, should the Ohio “heartbeat” ban pass and get signed into law, this equally unconstitutional law will become moot.

If this law had been in effect in Texas before I was born, I would not be here. My mother had to have an abortion with her first pregnancy because it would have killed her if she didn’t. She didn’t have one because she didn’t want children, she didn’t have one because it just wasn’t the right time, she had one to save her life. They want to push their religious war on woman so hard that they are going to end up killing the very children they pretend to want to protect. Guess what idiots, if the mother dies, so does her baby at that stage. But hey, maybe, just maybe they can save the baby when they kill the mother because of there bullshit laws. But I wonder if any of them have researched what happens when the baby is that premature. Oh that’s right, they just want it to be alive, they don’t care what kind of quality of life the baby has. By the way Rita j2, repeating yourself three times doesn’t help prove your argument, it just makes you sound like a moron.

There is no excuse for people like you pushing YOUR MORAL beleiefs on any one else nor is the Governments right to invade the personal property of anyone else’s body.

Soon the only Government will have( with traitors like Rita spewing control the women) will be the Uterus police i can see it now they will put collars on all girls at pubery that will shock them if they move. The Uterus police will patrol the streets on a regular basis. I guess it is good we ALL still have those second amendment alternatives HAHA!

Wednesday Ohio Governor John Kasich (R) signed into law a bill banning the abortion of any viable fetus after 20 weeks. Ohio becomes only the most recent of several states to ban late-term abortions. The ban ignores federal rulings under Roe v. Wade.

Abortion is an issue that evokes, on all sides, very strong feelings and judgments and very heated recriminations. The Ohio legislation has no contingencies for rape or incest. Ohio bans late term abortions. In some cases, late term abortions would be allowed if a physician can prove in court that it was necessary to save the mother’s life. Doctors who ignore the new law could be jailed and lose their medical licenses.

Serious penalties, true?  So if the doctor is at all worried that it will be difficult to prove they were right in court, the way they can protect themselves is to just let women die.  After all, although there are laws that require doctors and hospitals to make every possible effort to save a child born alive during an abortion, there’s no law that requires them to provide medical care to pregnant women.

(sarcasm) If women aren’t willing to die during pregnancy, they shouldn’t have had sex, right?  If they can’t ‘gestate correctly’, what would be the point of saving them?  Women who can’t produce children are expendable because that’s the only reason for their existence, and if they’re ‘broken’, quietly neglecting to bother saving their lives enables men to replace them with ‘breeders’ who still work.  (end sarcasm)

Unfortunately crow, it is that line of thinking by people that makes women who will probably never get to have children like me feel like utter worthless shit.  I have my days where I feel guilty and ashamed of not fulfilling my womanly destiny and I wonder to myself, “If I can’t ever have children, then why am I even here?  What purpose am I going to serve?”  I know those words probably make all you cringe, but when you live in a forced-birther world and you have the audacity to be 30 years old and still no children, then people tend to look at you as a colossal failure or as if something is terribly wrong with you.

‘Womanly Destiny” is a crock.  You are not a cow.  Funny how there’s lots of ‘unplanned pregnancies are God’s plan’ and even (retch) ‘pregnancy after rape is God’s plan’ but it never ever seems to be ‘being childless is God’s plan’.

Men don’t get pregnant and gestate children and they have no problem justifying their existence.  Men don’t see fathering children as absolutely necessary to making a contribution.  Shoot, they still think they’re valuable to society after they’ve dumped the wife and kids and wandered off into the sunset with the bimbo, never to be seen or heard from again.

If women actually LIKE kids, they can alloparent through foster care/adopt, working in a day care, volunteering with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, helping out with the after school homework assistance program, babysitting for friends, contributing money to the many programs helping kids, or working to make sure social programs and business recognize the needs of children.

Maybe if there wasn’t so much idiotic insistence that since men are ‘better at’ everything ELSE, women should be restricted to the one thing men can’t do for themselves, and then people would stop trying to blame/shame women who don’t want to be there into the maternal mold, and kids might have a decent change of getting a parent who actually liked having them around.  Sure seems to me neglect/abuse rates would  likelydrop.

If women CHOOSE not to have children, that is still part of God’s plan. Did he not grant us with free-will? Religous arguements fail every time. Try again.
