A Bunch Of (Mostly) Men Explain Why They are Going To Force You To Look At Fetus Parts When You Drive Down The Street

Because the right to display giant blown up pictures of “dismembered babies” supersedes any person’s right just to drive down a street without being accosted, Pro-Life Action League will be bringing a “graphic abortions display” to a street near you soon.  Watch the video and see a bunch of guys (and one woman who says she gave a baby up for adoption) explain why it’s good for kids to see enormous pictures of what they allege are the results of abortions.  You know, because kids are “naturally pro-life.”

Oh, and obviously, there are graphic images in the video, if you need to be warned.

Parents are being arrested for taking pictures of toddler girls wearing only swimming suit bottoms or babies in bathtubs.  I think people ought to complain that these pictures of NAKED CHILDREN are obscene and insist the people displaying them be arrested for child pornography.

The protesters were wearing T-shirts that say “Deuteronomy 30:10”:

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live

OK, so out of context, it says “choose life,” a term which is used by those opposed to abortion to mean “don’t have an abortion.” But the snippet is taken from a speech by Moses about the covenant (the big main one). He’s telling people to follow the Jewish god’s commandments — you either believe in this god and you are allowed to live, or you get cursed with every possible curse and die horribly, the choice is yours. The bible says very little about actual abortion, and doesn’t seem to take a stand either way about whether you should do it or not. A couple of times it mentions how God destroys babies and fetuses against the mother’s will, e.g. Hosea 13:16 “Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up”

So they don’t mind kids seeing it–just lovely. Actually, I wouldn’t put it past one of these people to physicallly accost a child in the street and pull them over to look at the pictures.  Child exploitation is something the pro-life movement has always loved to do–I remember reading how in the early 90s the parents would get their kids to crawl under the barricades at abortion clinic protests. Lovely parents, aren’t they?

… who stood around with strollers and had young children by the hand here in my area- during the high summer. Eastern Washington gets to be 100+ degrees and here these people were, with no shade, on the concrete, by the side of a busy road. There’s some high quality parenting right there!

What about my right to not have to view this or have my children exposed to this? Don’t one person’s rights end where mine begin? Oh that’s right, I’m a woman whose been having her rights taken away. Silly me.

And another thing kids know are BULLIES.  That’s how I have explained the kooks who have tried to frighten my children with similar actions.  Kids know pushy jerks when they see ’em.

I still wonder about the PLers at my school last month who managed to traumatize a woman who’d recently miscarried.  Did they feel bad about it, or did they consider it a bonus?
