The Metro Women’s Center in Minnesota is an example of “great work being done in the local communities”? It took me less than 30 seconds to find their blog, “Metro News: Saving Babies in Minnesota, One Woman at a Time.”

Their “great work” includes pillorying the Girl Scouts, promoting Americans for Life, mourning the passage of health care reform, and proselytizing for the Christian church. And thanks to anti-choice crusaders like Jill Stanek, it’s now one of the top 3 recipients of votes in Lilith Fair’s online Facebook contest.

Lilith Fair could have posted a fan poll and come up with worthy organizations in less than a day. Instead they took a gamble, and now they should do the right thing and pull the offensive organizations from the roster.

In the meantime, fans should consider supporting the Lilith Fund instead of Lilith Fair.

They should if they want to have well attended events.
