Roe v. Wade Only Supreme Court Case Palin Knows?

UPDATE: On CBS Evening News Wednesday evening October 1st, Katie Couric spoke with Sarah Palin and Joe Biden about Roe v. Wade and the separation of church and state.  Watch video and read Scott’s post.

Politico reports that in a remaining clip from the CBS interview with Katie Couric, Sarah Palin has yet another embarrassing blunder.

When asked to discuss Supreme Court discussions other than Roe v. Wade, Palin had no response:

Of concern to McCain’s campaign, however, is a remaining and still-undisclosed clip from Palin’s interview with Couric last week that has the political world buzzing.

The Palin aide, after first noting how "infuriating" it was for CBS to purportedly leak word about the gaffe, revealed that it came in response to a question about Supreme Court decisions.

After noting Roe vs. Wade, Palin was apparently unable to discuss any major court cases.

There was no verbal fumbling with this particular question as there was with some others, the aide said, but rather silence.

    Not even Gore v. Bush?

  • brady-swenson

has not yet been aired by CBS.  The Huffington Post is reporting that  these responses (or non-responses) about the supreme court are not unaired portions of the Couric interview but actually part of the "Vice Presidential Questions series with Palin and Joseph
Biden which was always scheduled to air in the days before the vice
presidential debate."  As soon as video surfaces we will post it.  Thanks, Michele.

Ignorance compounded with baseless self-confidence– that is Sarah Palin.
She could not pass a high school civics class. If she were not already a US citizen, she would never pass the test to become one.
As vice president she would be a menace, as president a complete catastrophe.

How about Gideon v. Wainright (Court appointed free attorneys)
Brown v. Board overturning Plessy v. Ferguson
    Miranda v. Arizona
    Marbury v. Madison

It is quite humorous to view the smug responses about Sarah
Palin’s lack of knowledge of Supreme Court cases. As we all know, it is unlikely that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be cognizant of any specific cases. Furthermore, the fine points of the cases such as Marbury vs. Madison, Plessy vs Ferguson or Brown vs Board of Education could not be discussed by any of these pompous posters.

A governor of the Great State of Alaska has lawyers to deal with legal questions. Similarly, the Executive branch of the US government while involved with the Legislative branch and also the Judicial branch does not specialize in the formation of laws.

Show some respect for a great lady.

At least she doesn’t think FDR got on TELEVISION in 1929 (three and a half years before he was sworn in) to address the market crash.
